The week
The week
The morphocycle, published. Same pattern every week, and the pairing is the content.
01
Load
The pattern does not change week to week. That is not a lack of imagination — it is the entire mechanism. A player who cannot predict Thursday cannot arrive ready for it.

Tactical emphasis
| Day | Physical | Scale | Tactical emphasis | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MonMD+1 | Recovery | Individual | None — nothing is acquired the day after a match | Anyone who played over sixty minutes does no tactical work at all. |
| TueOff | — | — | — | A day off in the middle of the week, not at the end. The weekend is not rest for anybody who plays. |
| WedMD−4 | Strength | Sector | Pressing: the trigger and the cover | Short, intense, many stoppages. Small spaces, high eccentric load, and the sub-principle is trained in the pauses. |
| ThuMD−3 | Endurance | Whole team | Progression: build and the third man | The big day. Large spaces, few stoppages, closest to the match in everything except the score. |
| FriMD−2 | Speed | Group | Rest defence: shape before the turnover | Short and sharp with full recovery between. The tactical work is small-group and quick; nothing new is introduced. |
| SatMD−1 | Activation | Whole team | Set pieces and the game plan | Low load, high clarity. If something is still being taught today, it should have been taught on Thursday. |
| SunMD | Match | Whole team | All of it, or none of it | The match is the only real assessment the model gets, which is why the week points at it rather than away from it. |
