Fifteen years coaching, eight of them teaching coaches. I have taken more than four hundred people through licence preparation, and I still coach an U17 side on Saturdays because I do not believe you can teach this from a classroom you never leave.
Most licence courses hand you a syllabus and hope. What actually fails people at assessment is not knowledge, it is a session plan that does not survive contact with thirty tired teenagers. So that is what we spend six weeks on: planning it, running it, filming it, and being told the truth about it.
How I teach
Plan it, do not copy it
Anybody can run a session they found online. An assessor is watching whether you know why every constraint is there.
Film yourself, early
The first time you watch yourself coach is uncomfortable and it is worth six weeks of theory.
Small groups, or it is a lecture
Twelve people maximum. If nobody can ask a question, you have bought a video course at a live price.
