Safeguarding

Every football school has a safeguarding policy. Most of them will send it to you if you ask, and asking feels like an accusation, so almost nobody does.

Ours is on this page instead, in full, before you have met anybody. If you read one thing on this site before bringing your child, read this rather than the timetable.

Helena SáDesignated safeguarding officer

Helena is not a coach and does not run sessions, which is deliberate. She is at Campo Norte on Tuesdays and Thursdays and reachable in writing at any time.

Being honest

Parents of children who play football are surrounded by people selling a pathway. We are not one of them, and here is the evidence, published rather than mentioned.

Where our sixteen-year-olds went, 2011 to 2025. Every child who finished with us.

One professional contract in fourteen years, and he would tell you himself that we were four of the eleven hours a week he was doing. The number that actually matters to us is the first one: two thirds of them were still playing football somewhere at eighteen.

Questions

What does my child need to bring?

Boots or trainers, shin pads and a drink. We provide everything else and there is no kit to buy. Wear whatever is comfortable for the first session.

What if we go on holiday?

Pause the subscription from your own account for up to two months a year, at no charge. Most families pause August and nobody has to be told.

Do you have girls' groups?

Yes — Sub-10 on Fridays and Sub-16 on Thursdays, plus mixed groups at every age. Same coaches, same session plans.

My child has a medical condition. Who knows about it?

The coaches running your child's session, and nobody else. It is on the registration form, it is on the tablet at the gate, and it is not discussed in front of other children or other parents.

Can I watch?

Always, from the stand or the touchline. We ask you not to coach from the side, which is the only rule we have for parents and the one we get asked about most.

What if my child does not want to go back?

Then they do not go back and it cost you nothing, because the first session is free. That happens and it is not a failure of anybody's.
