The problem
Four hamstring injuries in three seasons. Fast, and unavailable every February.
What I did
Twelve weeks of eccentric work built around a fixture list, with the volume dropping in the two weeks either side of a double gameweek.
The result
A full season, no soft-tissue days.
Nordic hamstring hold, seconds. Tested week 1, 6 and 12.
Weekly load, arbitrary units. Note the two drops — those are double gameweeks, planned for in advance.
The battery I use, published before you hire me rather than after.
| Test | How | What it tells us |
|---|---|---|
| Countermovement jump | Force plate or app | Power, and fatigue when it drops |
| 10m and 30m sprint | Timing gates | Acceleration and top speed, separately |
| Nordic hamstring | Hand-held dynamometer | The single best hamstring-injury marker we have |
| Isometric mid-thigh pull | Force plate | Maximum strength without needing a 1RM |
| Yo-Yo IR1 | Standard protocol | Repeat-sprint capacity, when the sport needs it |
| Ankle and hip range | Goniometer | The two joints that quietly cause everything else |
Athletic profile percentile vs level
One athlete's profile, percentile against their own position and level. This is what a testing block produces.
Filmed by me. Free, and it is the reason most people find this site.
Test before you plan
Three sessions of numbers before a single set is programmed. If we cannot measure it now, we cannot show you it moved.
Programme the season, not the block
In-season lifting is less than you think and more often. The block that works in July is the one that gets you injured in November.
Adjust on the day
You send how you slept and how heavy it felt. If it is a bad week the session changes. That is the part software cannot do for you.
What I have changed my mind about. No selling in between.
